14th ameegus

26-29th January 2020

What is Ameegus?

AMeeGuS is the traditionally annual meeting of the PhD students from Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC), an international centre for biomedical and biological research and graduate training, that has been ranked among the "10 Best Places for Post-docs outside the USA", by The Scientist (2010, 2011). Learn more about IGC here.

This event aims at creating an informal atmosphere where students share and discuss their projects with their peers, receiving  precious feedback to improve their work. In addition, notable Keynote Speakers from relevant and cutting-edge biological fields are invited to enrich the event with their knowledge and advice.

The event takes place in different regions of Portugal, filled with astonishing landscapes, food and cultural landmarks.

The 14th AMeeGuS will be a joint meeting between the PhD students from IGC and from the Biology at the Host Microbe Interface (INTERFACE) programme. The INTERFACE PhD programme is organised by three internationally renowned institutions in the Lisbon area: Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (ITQB NOVA), Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC) and Instituto de Medicina Molecular (iMM).
